Салициловое производное с противовоспалительными, иммунодепрессивными и бактериостатическими свойствами, используемыми при язвенном колите. Пероральное или ректальное введение 1 - 3 раза в день. Месалазин плохо абсорбируется в кишечнике, особенно если введение ректально; уровни в плазме очень низкие, и он проходит в небольшом количестве до молока, хотя метаболит (неактивный для лечения болезни), N-ацетил-5-ASA (Na5ASA), переходит в более высокую концентрацию в молоко, но не превышает 10% относительная доза (Silverman 2005, Christensen 1994, Klotz 1993, Miller 1993, Jenss, 1990). Никаких проблем не было описано более чем у 120 младенцев матерей, которые принимали Месалазин (Xu 2017, Moretti, 1989), за исключением одного изолированного случая диареи (Ito 1993, Nelis 1989, Branski 1986).
